Gotthard Base Tunnel

The 57 km Gotthard Base Tunnel is the centrepiece of the new transalpine train route (NEAT). Led by Implenia, the TRANSCO and TAT consortiums are responsible for constructing three of the five tunnel sections. The breakthrough on 15 October 2010 – a milestone in this momentous project – attracted a huge amount of media attention.
