Outstanding level of incoming orders in the 4th quarter reflects strong customer confidence and ensures that Implenia's capacity utilization will be high in 2010.
D i e t l i k o n, 12 January 2010 – Implenia, Switzerland's leading construction services group, has reported an extremely good order book for end-2009. At CHF 3.4 billion, it was 17% higher than a year before (CHF 2.9 billion). The order book is particularly notable for projects that were acquired by and that are being implemented by more than one of the group's divisions. For example, the «Coupe Gordon Benett» contract in Geneva, «Beaulieu» in Lausanne and «Königsareal» in Arbon are being handled jointly by the Real Estate Division and the Infrastructure Division. The figures were also boosted significantly by some major road-building orders in the Infrastructure Division and by the Real Estate Division's Europaallee Baufeld C project in Zurich. The record year-end order book was achieved not least thanks to a sharp increase in the final quarter of 2009, during which incoming orders were more than 42% up on the year-back figure at CHF 0.97 billion. This very positive backlog of work is also a result of the integrated business model that sees individual Divisions working more closely together to exploit acquisition opportunities.
The current level of orders reflects customers' confidence in Implenia and ensures good capacity utilization for the group in 2010.
