Construction method:

  • Soffit and cantilever frames
  • Removal of old surfaces and sealants
  • Remove of cantilever and maintenance of carriageway surfaces conventionally and with HPW
  • Construction of new parapets on cantilever and Jersey barriers
  • Renovation of abutments
  • Replacement of bearings on bridge pillars
  • Cast asphalt
  • Drainage
  • Crash barriers
  • Construction of noise barriers
  • Removal of asbestos from hollow boxed areas

Specialities: The cantilever was not demolished using the conventional method of high-pressure jets but by cutting the concrete into small parts and then removing them using lifts. A mobile shuttering was used to stay within the tight scheduling. Waterproof and dustproof trestles over the SBB two-lane Brugg-Othmarsingen cargo route were one of the several layers of the SBB.
