Implenia buys two development sites to create attractive living space

Implenia's Division Real Estate buys two development sites in Zurich and Morges (VD) | Securing the project pipeline and commitment to the Swiss real estate market

Glattpark (Opfikon), 29 April 2024 – Implenia's Division Real Estate acquired two attractive development sites in central locations with excellent transport links in Zurich-Seebach and Morges (VD) in the first quarter of 2024. They have a total value of around CHF 40 million and a market value after completion of around CHF 110 million. Implenia is looking forward to the opportunity to tap into the great development potential of both sites. The focus is on residential developments, supplemented in the case of Morges by space for commercial use.

In Zurich, the site in question is Dohlenweg in the Seebach district, where around 60 new apartments are to be built in the immediate vicinity of the Oerlikon railroad station transport hub. The plan is to submit the planning application by the end of 2024.

In Morges (VD), the Division Real Estate has acquired a plot of land on Rue de Lausanne. It has an excellent location on Lake Geneva with direct transport links to Lausanne. New residential property is to be built on a net floor area of around 2,500 m2, as well as around 1,000 m2 of residential rental space and around 600 m2 of commercial rental space. The development plan envisages the upgrading of the former commercial site into an urban quarter with apartments and commercial premises that meet the highest energy standards.

Adrian Wyss, Head Division Real Estate at Implenia, comments on the newly acquired land: "Demand for residential space in attractive, central locations remains high. By continuing to invest in our development pipeline, we are helping to create a diverse range of residential space. We believe in the attractiveness of the Swiss real estate market."

Implenia's Division Real Estate has many years of experience and extensive expertise in project development, the transformation of former industrial sites into vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods and the execution of challenging transactions.
